We know it can be tricky trying picture what a side of beef looks like and just how much meat it is! Another question we receive is ‘how big does my freezer need to be’?
Well, to answer these questions, I have filmed a side of beef that we ordered for our family and it weighed 125kg dressed weight.
Freezer space, as a guide we suggest the following:
Based on 200kg for a whole beast you will need a freezer capacity of 350L minimum
Based on 100kg for a half beast you will need a freezer capacity of 175L minimum
Based on 50kg for a mixed quarter you will need a freezer capacity of 90L minimum
