Our orders always come with lots of flavoursome and versatile 100% grass-fed beef mince. The best thing about our mince is that it’s packed with nutrients and taste, and you can quickly make it into a variety of different meals like meatballs, bolognese, hamburgers and pies… you could have mince in different recipes every night of the week and not get bored (or is that just me?). A classic dish, most families love is Beef Shepherd’s Pie. Load it with vegetables, even savoury lentils, and top it with crusty, cheesy mashed potato – and your family will be asking for more! It’s wonderful comfort food.
In this Cooking Demonstration, Chef Shane Johnson has whipped up his version of a Maleny Black Angus Beef Shepherd’s Pie. It’s quick, simple and you can add even more vegetables to it (such as cauliflower, eggplant, zucchini, capsicum, corn) if you like. On the farm, we sometimes swap the cheesy mashed potato top, for sweet potato, to lower the carbs.
Look out for his follow-up demos in our series, where Shane shows you how to take any leftover mince mixture and make it into delicious Savoury Mince and too-easy Nachos. You’ll have dinner sorted for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights! Awesome!
